Today's Recipe: Thank you, Louise Veronica Ciccone-Richie!
Today's recipe satisfies the two most important needs of 'with it' young women in 2005: carb-conscious eating, and looking cool. Some people might say that the bhindi craze began and ended with Madonna, but this delicious recipe will make you think again. (Men, you'll just have to wait for yours!)
FYI- watch out, Guy Richie! Madonna: Guy Richie 'threatens Rabbi'
BTW, I don't actually know the carbohydrate content of this dish, but for the seriously carb-concerned, I would suggest eliminating the rice, okra, and tomatoes.
Enjoy!

2 tsp oil
1 half cup chopped onions
1 half cup chopped tomatoes
1 tsp chili powder

Cut okra to 1/2inch pieces and keep aside. Heat oil in a pan. Fry all the ingredients of seasoning. add onions, ginger garlic paste and cook for 5minutes. add okra pieces, tomato pieces, turmeric powder, salt, chili powder. Add 1/4cup water. Cook until okra is soft. Add garam masala powder and cook for 5 minutes.
Carefully place the bhindi on forehead, between eyes, and serve with basmati rice and your fave chutney or pickle.

Lisa H., thank you for posting such a great stuff. I've always wanted an easy-to-follow Indian food recipe. I love your sense of humor - that Madonna article is hilarious! (I don't really understand what you have against hanging out in ethnic neighborhoods, though.) I also really like the personality surveys. I never knew I was so 'jewish'! Ha!
