There is this great book called the "pop up book of fears" that you would enjoy next time you are in a bookstore.

I concur re: clown puppets. But did everyone have recurring nightmares about them before age 3?*
My theory is that these dreams (quite vague in my mind) were serving a screen memory in lieu of dreams or real memories of an even scarier puppet.
